Research interest
Since my later Bachelor's studies, I have specialized myself in topics all around the Theory of Numbers. Having had the delightful opportunity to take courses covering topics such as the Representation Theory of Reductive Groups, Algebraic and Arithmetic Geometry and the Theory of Modular Forms already in my Bachelor curriculum, I took up the challenge in understanding and writing up Deligne's rather technical construction of ℓ-adic Galois representations for my Bachelor's thesis, for which I could not find any elementary exposition in the literature. Since then, I have tried to understand increasingly difficult constructions in Number Theory, with a special focus on those constructions with a geometric flavour. Right now, I am writing my Master's thesis on a topic in Arithmetic Geometry.
Theses
- For my Abitur, I have written a mini-thesis on the number-theoretic relevance of the Riemann Zeta function as a special learning achievement.
- You can find my Bachelor's thesis here. It is written in the German language. I have translated essential aspects of it into the English language for this write-up of a talk I have given in 2024.
- My Master's thesis is very much a work in progress right now.
Write-ups for Talks and Lectures
Over the years, I have given various talks on a multitude of different occasions at Paderborn University. Most of the times, I have written something up for them. Only a small number of these write-ups was thoroughly proofread, so if you happen to find any mistake, please do feel encouraged to write a mail! In general, I am thankful for any comments. Please note that the quality of the write-ups may vary.
- Number Theory Oberseminar (with Prof. Januszewski): Automorphic forms and representations, Adic Spaces, Perfectoid spaces
- Program suggestion for the Number Theory Oberseminar of the summer term 2025 on Scholze's paper on Galois representations attached to torsion classes
- Spectral Theory and Geometry Research Seminars (with Prof. Weich): Coxeter complexes, Structure theory of Symmetric Spaces, Lattices and Kazhdan's property (T)
- Seminar on BSD (with Dr. Maksoud): The Bloch-Kato conjecture and p-adic Hodge theory
- Miscellaneous in German: Seminar talks on Normed Fields, Modular Forms and Hecke Operators
- Lecture series in Commutative Algebra and Algebraic and Arithmetic Geometry (with Prof. Januszewski, in German)
- Lectures on Iwasawa Theory (with Dr. Maksoud)
Conference Participation
I have had the special pleasure to participate at some conferences already.- Special values of L-functions (Paderborn University, March 2023)
- Journées SL2R (University of Luxemburg, June 2024)
- Opening Conference of the CRC TRR 358 "Integral Structures in Geometry and Representation Theory" (Paderborn University, September 2024)
- 33èmes Journées Arithmétiques (University of Luxembourg, July 2025)
Teaching
Tutoring experience
From the beginning of my Bachelor's study in October 2021 up until March 2025, I worked as a student and academic assistant at the Institute of Mathematics.- Responsibilities: Management of exercises, maintenance of the course website, creation of exercise sheets, correction of assignments and exams, individual support in the learning centre, preparation and implementation of exercise sessions
- Courses: Analysis 2, Measure Theory, Complex Analysis, Linear Algebra 1 and 2, Abstract Algebra, Galois Theory and Commutative Algebra
Outreach activities
- During high school, I lead a Math club for around 10 students and two years.
- I have given various expository talks for a broader audience: On Riemann's Zeta function, Spectral Theory and Diophantine equations.
- For the Deutsche Mathematiker-Vereinigung, I have written a "Mitteilung", giving an informal introduction into the contents of my Bachelor's thesis. It was published here.
- I have organized two student seminars: On Condensed Sets and Harmonic Analysis and Representation Theory.
Miscellaneous
As part of a practical Master's seminar, I have cocreated optimization software for a local nursing company. Here's an expository presentation in the German language on this software.
Voluntary Work
- I am the spokesperson and an ambassador for the local network of my scholarship, the German Academic Scholarship Foundation. As spokesperson, I am responsible for organizing events and representing the interests of the local scholarship holders. As ambassador, I try to contribute to equality of opportunity in the German educational sector.
- During my studies, I have been continuously engaged in university politics: As a member of the Academic Advisory Board, Student Council, Institute Board and several appointment committees. Moreover, I have introduced about 100 first year students to the university as a Teamer.
- More informally, I have organized a variety of different events in the Math institute with the goal of connecting students with each other and with the academic staff. Recently, I have formalized these endeavours by co-founding a Mathematics university initiative.
